Where Peace Lives
|
by Debbie Robins |
Where Peace Lives is a book of timeless wisdom for all ages. Both children and adults will delight in the adventure to free the angel Peace. The only hope for the world; to find the three keys to set Peace free. Inspired by the universal teachings of Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Moses and Mohammad, the story-teller discovers that the “Three Keys to Peace” are not what they might seem.
“In this book by Debbie Robins, children and adults can find inspiration and get to the source of what really matters in their own lives. It is a roadmap to the soul.” –Arianna Huffington
"I was charmed." –Gore Vidal
“Where Peace Lives” is the coolest ride. It is an adventure down a new ‘rabbit hole’ with pearls of wisdom on the other side.” –Penny Marshall, director
“When I finished Where Peace Lives I felt the same way I did after putting down The Little Prince; grateful for the magic of a fable to delight, inspire and educate, all at the same time.” –Jane Seymour, actress, honorary national chairperson for City Hearts
“Where Peace Lives is an imaginative, beautiful, important story, a must-read for children and adults alike. After all, what could be more vital to our world than rediscovering the keys to peace and knowing we can make a difference? This is a classic in the making.”
–Daphne Rose Kingma, author (Finding True Love, Coming Apart, Future of Love)
“It is not every book that arrives at LJ’s offices with testimonials from Jane Seymour, Arianna Huffington, Penny Marshal and that saint of secular humanism, Gore Vidal, but such is the fate of this new work by former television and film producer Robins. Aimed at children but a delight for all readers, it is a kind of animal-story allegory that draws on and fuses insights from Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism, as well as those of Gandhi, in the pursuit of, and praise of, peace. Whether its teaching missions is too heavyhanded to prove satisfying to children only time and child readers themselves can tell us, but Robins’s sincere writing, assisted by Victor Robert’s charming pen-and-ink wash drawings, should initially attract a wide audience. For most collections.” –Library Journal March, 2007
